- lounging in jammies, sprawling across the living room floor. air mattress and couch cushions.
- movies and t.v. shows. lots of 'em.
- warm, fuzzy blankets. wrapped tight around little bodies; and then kicked off again. on and off. on and off. it's a vicious cycle, I tell you.
- popsicles. unlimited popsicles. various colors and various sizes.
- passing around the thermometer, and then...
- passing round of the ibuprofen.
- the bathroom is frequented.
- endless replenishing of ginger ale for upset tummies.
- incessant whining, mixed with consoling and a touch of intermittent napping.
A summer bug has hit our home. Full force. Sparing no children. The pool glistens in the hot sun, untouched. The garden beckons to be freed of its weeds. The lawn begs to be mowed. The sun teasingly throws its rays through my windows. But my children all plead, "Mom..will you come sit with me?"
Summer shall have to wait yet another day. We'll be back out. I promise.
Booo! summer sickness is the worst! a couple of my babes just got over this fever/flu thing (rob too!). last august, kieran, rob and I all got the stomach flu and it just felt wrong to be sick like that when it is so beautiful outside. hope it passes quickly and that you and shawn are spared! xoxo
ReplyDeleteAw yuck, Sweets. So sorry. Hopefully you kick it before heading to Rangeley. Which by the way - what do you think about overlapping for a day-ish??
