Living For the Weekend

We're not your typical family. Our weekends don't fall within the typical days. Our weekends run from Sunday to Monday. It's just how it works. Since Hub's day off is on Monday, the girls swap Saturdays for Mondays. Make sense? Not to the rest of the world, either. But that's okay.
This is how our past weekend looked.
We began with mini-golfing. A family first for us. The kids were slightly dazed and confused by the whole process, but after 5,438 taps, whacks and smacks with the putter...the ball finally went in the hole. It took a while. Needless to say, Hubs won in the end. We're doubtful that any have a future in the pro-golfing field. Golf was followed up with make your own ice cream sundae's. To which we thoroughly made ourselves sick. We had enough sugar in our systems to keep a diabetic in a coma for a week. To burn off some of that sugar, the girls and I rode our bikes around town. Which causes me to be sentimental. This past month has been the first time ever all my girls have gone on a bike ride with me. They're all officially on the road, since Lexi finally mastered her biking skills. It's a good stage to be at.We then rode down to the fishing brook where we met Hubs and did a little brook trout fishing. To which we received nary a bite, but had fun just the same. And in other breaking news...I finally removed the crowning glory of this summer's garden. The nights are dangerously cold, the days growing chilly. If the melon hadn't fully ripened by now, it certainly wasn't going to. I knew I was taking my chances...And in the words of my good friend (and fellow watermelon-grower) Amy...another "epic fail". Although, the chickens, bunnies and guinea pigs all feasted well. I guess being watermelon-farmers just wasn't in the stars for us this year, eh, Amy?

  1. Okay girl. Time is up. It's time for another date day. You pick it, and you choose if you want to come to me or me come to you. I miss you. Feeling the need for some Darrah goodness.

By the way, your watermelon looked better than mine. At least it was somewhat pink. What's the deal, anyway????
